Nikki Renken

Administrator

Nikki was born in London to parents from Ireland and Sri Lanka. Born in London 1960. My parents are from Ireland and Sri Lanka; sadly my father died suddenly when I was 13. My mother, two brothers and their families still live in London. I went to a girls’ Catholic boarding school. At University I read civil engineering, but left to start volunteering in the community and trained as a generalist advice worker. Worked in the voluntary sector and completed a law degree in the evenings, subsequently moving to management roles dealing with consumer protection firstly in Energy and then Health regulation. I met my husband Paul in paradise (Moorea, a Tahitian island). We married in 2002 followed rapidly with the arrival of two daughters Emma& Ruth. For the last six years I have worked on a freelance basis adjudicating tenancy deposit disputes. I still sit as an independent member on the Ethics and Education Committee of the British Dental Association and Lambeth Council’s Standards Committee. I am about to start working for Springboard, a charity that provides literacy intervention support to schools.
