Furaha choir       

The Furaha choir is a Swahili vocal group that sings at  St Anne's.

The Choir was formed in 1992, and has been serving the Swahili Congregation in London ever since. In addition, it also participates in other Services at the Church (e.g. English Service) and outside St Anne and St Agnes Church. The Choir participates in both religious and non-religious events/gatherings including community events and social events.

The Furaha Choir has featured at events in London (e.g. St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, service in Westminster Cathedral to bid farewell to President Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, Gospel Workshops organised by ), as well as outside London. It has also featured in TV events on the BBC, and has performed a number of small concerts on its own and with others (collaborative work) at both low and relatively high profile events e.g. at London Westmister Chapel's 'Night of Worship 2009' and in Meopham (both of which were focusing on Tanzania), music workshops with Eclectic Voices , a concert with Eclectic Voices at St John's Smith Square in London, at a fund-raising event hosted by Themba Trust UK to mark World AIDS Day held at South African Embassy (London), and so on.

The Furaha Choir has varied music repertoire - some composed by the members of the Choir, but the majority of its repertoire is from Africa (Tanzania especially) and from all denominations. The Choir occasionally sings in English and other languages from outside Africa.
